According to the foreign media "Sports Mole" citing ESPN news, Woodward stopped Manchester United's signing of the Haaland transfer before January this year, and Woodward called the suspension of the transfer because of the brokerage fee and termination fee.
ESPN claimed that Manchester United had completed the transfer, however, they withdrew their interest when they learned that there was a brokerage fee. Harland's team also insisted on including a termination fee clause in his contract, and Woodward probably would not accept it.
This allowed Dortmund to launch a fierce attack on Haaland. The German club believed that he was in line with the 20 million euro valuation and agreed to the 75 million euro clause, which cannot be used before 2022. In the end Dortmund signed him for 20 million euros.
Harland played 18 times for the team after joining Dortmund last season, contributing 16 goals and 2 assists. This season he played 5 times for Dortmund, scored 5 goals and sent 2 assists.
